Ian Halperin, the star's biographer, had said Monday that Jackson

London: Pop legend Michael Jackson has denied that he is seriously ill and needs a lung transplant, slamming his biographer's claims to be a complete fabrication.

Ian Halperin, the star's biographer, had said Monday that Jackson, 50,is suffering from rare genetic illness, Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, as well as emphysema and gastrointestinal bleeding. He claimed that the singer can barely speak and is 95 percent blind in his left eye by the debilitating genetic condition. A spokesman for the pop star, however, has said that there is no truth to the claims, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Jackson is in fine health, and in fact finalising negotiations with a major entertainment company and television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances, Jackson spokesman Tohme Tohme said in a statement Tuesday. Concerning this author's (Halperin's) allegations, we would hope in the future that legitimate media will not continue to be exploited by such an obvious attempt to promote this unauthorised biography, he added.
